Missionary Christine Bonita Royal-Brown, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend was called home to Glory on August 16, 2022. Christine was born November 21, 1950, in New Orleans, LA to parents Eliza T. Royal and Leonard Royal, Jr. She graduated from McDonogh 35 High School, earned a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Southern University of New Orleans, graduated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary & College with her B.R.E., and was an ordained Missionary.

Christine met her husband, Rev. Dr. Lawrence C. Brown, Sr. while both were working for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. As a First Lady, she was a shining example of a Praying Woman of God and source of encouragement to many she encountered. She was a “Day Maker”, always offering a big smile to all she met and sharing her favorite Bible Verse to ease troubled hearts and minds, Romans 8:28. As a mother, Christine taught her children the importance of prayer and obedience unto the Lord and the joy of doing for others, and she was a continuous source of encouragement and unconditional love. She enjoyed crocheting, raising plants, cooking, arts and crafts, doing puzzles and teaching kids to play the recorder.

Christine is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Rev. Dr. Lawrence C. Brown, Sr., who affectionately called her “Presh”; mother, Eliza T. Royal; daughters, Danielle A. Igiehon (Anthony) and Lynell C. Brown and son Lawrence C. Brown, Jr. (Deandra). Grandchildren: Esosasehe A. Igiehon; Trinity M. Brown; Omoregbee O. Igiehon; Anthony D. Bush, Jr.; Precious Z. M.
